Mohammed Al-Asfoor, Marketing Manager at Well Flow International, participated in the Seef Half Marathon on January 8, 2016, in Manama, Bahrain. The marathon supports patients fighting Sickle Cell Disease (SCD). Funds from the marathon will help buy new devices for the Bahrain Society for SCD Patient Care, which in turn help relieve patient pain.
The Bahrain SCD Society comes together with the Ministry of Health to help reduce Sickle Cell Disease. The society represents over 65,000 people in Bahrain with the disease.
Al-Asfoor runs to represent those suffering with Sickle Cell Disease. “Running is not just a sport, it’s much more than that," Al-Asfoor says. "Running is a message that carries human calls for those who are suffering in silence.”
He will also run the 22 January 2016 Dubai Marathon in support of the same cause.
