WFDS is located in Manama, Bahrain with project offices and warehouses located in Houston, Texas, Mumbai, India, and Muscat, Oman providing engineering and logistical support. WFDS provides Short and Ultra Short Radius Horizontal Drilling services and Multi-Lateral Re- Entry services for operators throughout the Middle East, Southeast Asia and the USA. This technology employs a rotary steerable technology developed by BP Amoco more than 17 years ago. USRD services have been provided to BP Amoco, Chevron, Mitchell Energy, Oxy USA, Conoco Phillips, Petroleum Development Oman and ONGC with more than 200 wells drilled today.

WFDS constantly strives to enhance the technology through innovations that improve reliability and versatility. WFDS was the first company in the world to utilize titanium drill pipe for any type of downhole drilling activity. To date, WFDS has used titanium drill pipe in conjunction with both The Rotary Steerable System and mud motors. WFDS is also believed to be the only company to successfully drill a horizontal lateral with air hammers.

Multi-Lateral Re-Entry Tools
and Technology
WFDS has developed a multi-lateral re-entry system to compliment its multi-lateral drilling technology. Its approach to providing innovative solutions to the energy industry has resulted in a simple and reliable system that can be used for the re-entering of open hole or cased hole sidetracks from both vertical and horizontal motherbores. This system incorporates hydraulics and miniaturized electronics to seek out window location, orientation of its specialized kicksub, flexibility to exit window profiles and confirmation of exit.
